Join the K.E.Y.S. Academy in a fundraiser to support youth in recovery on Sunday November 10th at the Robert J. Collins Arena at Brookdale's Lincroft Campus. Registration starts at 8:30am and the walk begins at 10am.

Sponsorships are still available to support the Walk For Recovery.

K.E.Y.S. Academy mission is to provide an academically, innovative, and supportive environment which will serve to eliminate the achievement gap for adolescents who have been diagnosed with a substance use disorder and are seeking a sober, healthy lifestyle.

The Jersey Shore Comic Book Show returns! Artists, writers and costume groups. Meet Neil Vokes (Superman), Bob Petrecca (Batman), Tony DiGerolamo (The Jersey Devil) and the Star Wars 501st Legion. Fun for the whole family.

The public is warmly invited to the 20th annual "United We Sing-Music of Gratitude" celebration on Sunday, November 10 at 3PM at the Unitarian Universalist Meeting House, 1475 W. Front St., Lincroft. This intercultural service of music, word and dance presents voices of different faiths raised in joy and gratitude. This will be the first time “United We Sing” has been held since the 2020 COVID pandemic shut-down.

Sponsored by the Monmouth Center for World Religions and Ethical Thought (MCWRET) and the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Monmouth County, this event has its origins in the aftermath of September 11, 2001. In anguish and sorrow, we came together from our different cultural and faith traditions to proclaim and celebrate our rich diversity. The healing effect of the evening led us to repeat the event with presentations over the years from the Muslim, Jain, Christian, Baha'i, Hindu, Sikh, Jewish, Native American, Buddhist and UU communities.

Children are especially welcome to attend. Light refreshments will be provided after the program. The program is free of charge.

Celebrate the YMCA of Greater Monmouth County’s 150 years of community impact at its anniversary gala on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at the historic Shadowbrook at Shrewsbury.

This special event will pay tribute to the Y’s enduring legacy in central New Jersey, bringing together supporters, members, and friends for a night inspired by the splendor of the Gilded Age.

From 6 to 10 p.m., guests will experience the elegance of a bygone era at the stately Shadowbrook mansion, built just two years after the Y was established in downtown Red Bank in 1874.

The evening will feature a sumptuous dinner, cocktails, live music, dancing, and auctions, all designed to celebrate the Y’s commitment to providing life-changing programs such as childcare, early learning, summer camp, college readiness, therapeutic counseling, swim lessons, wellness, and ensuring access for all.

Ticket Information:

Individual tickets are priced at $275 and include all the evening’s festivities. Guests are encouraged to dress in “Gilded Age” cocktail attire stepping back in time while supporting the future of our Y.

The Matt O’Ree Band Does Led Zeppelin + A Full Set of MOB Originals!
One of the most legendary rock bands in history changed the world forever, but a new day is dawning for those who stand long as New Jersey grown Matt O’Ree, well known for his stint playing guitar for Bon Jovi, plays the songs of Led Zeppelin. Fronted by Matt’s unparalleled award-winning guitar playing and his wife Eyrn’s soulful vocals, it’s an evening filled with one set of Led Zeppelin, taking fans on a ride they haven’t seen or heard since the 1970s (think Zepplin at the Garden) and one set of their own great blues-rock originals combining the influences of Zeppelin, The Allman Brothers, Bad Company, ZZ Top, Johnny Winter and Etta James just to name a few. Some exceptional moments include an instrumental version of "Out On The Tiles," Eryn's unique take on "Black Dog," and just wait until Matt breaks out the bow on "Dazed and Confused". In the spirit of collaboration and appreciation for musical brilliance, we bring you our monthly concert series — pairing tunes from legendary masters of rock, along with some unsung heroes following in their footsteps. Settle in for an intimate vibe akin to MTV Unplugged, Storytellers and Behind the Music, as singer/guitarist Kevin Spyker performs timeless hits and hidden gems, accompanied by an array of instrumentalists from the Belmar Arts music collective.

Reserve your seats for our series launch on May 18th — highlighting the music of rock icon Tom Petty, with an opening set honoring the up-and-coming band known as Dawes...each month we will tribute two different bands.

Between songs we’ll share some history and fun facts about our featured songsters.

We’re honored to name our tribute series after the memorable Dawes song / album “All Your Favorite Bands” with the anthemic refrain:

“I hope that life without a chaperone is what you thought it'd be,

I hope your brother's El Camino runs forever,

I hope the world sees the same person that you've always been to me,

And may all your favorite bands stay together!”

Dub Side of the Moon: Live Performance

Join us for a one-of-a-kind multi-media experience, as we continue celebrating 50 years of Pink Floyd’s classic album “Dark Side of the Moon” with a live performance by Kevin Spyker & Friends at Belmar Arts Center!

This time around, our vibe will be distinctly Jamaican, as we also pay tribute to reggae sensation Easy Star All-Stars with their 2003 reinterpretation "Dub Side of the Moon."

In keeping with a quirky urban legend, we’ll be syncing up the music with the timeless film “Wizard of Oz” to create a mind-bending alternate soundtrack…

To date, we've counted around 40 instances of subtle synchronicity between these remarkable works. At times, there are simple cues and shifts in the music that reflect the action of the movie, other times the lyrics hint at key plot points...

Highlights include:

"Balanced on the biggest wave"

The bells of 'Time' and Almira Gulch riding in

"Softly spoken magic spells"

'Great Gig in the Sky' vs The Twister

'Money' meets Technicolor

"Black and blue... which is which... who is who"

"The lunatic is on the grass..."

So look sharp and listen intently for these fleeting moments of convergence. How many can you spot?

Since the early 2000’s, Kevin Spyker has performed the full album at numerous NJ-NYC area venues such as Arlene’s Grocery, LITM, 111 First Street Art Center, Luna Parc, and The Landmark Loew’s Jersey Theater.

This rendition will feature local musicians from the Belmar Arts collective, including Diane Doolittle, Andrew Dreamos, Chris J Smith, Brian Abrecht, Matthew Trice, Josh Matson and Jen Clemens.
